Every 4 days, at midnight on a moonless night, the season changes (in this order):

- Spring: Animals breed rapidly, wild farms appear more often, and there is increased rainfall.
- Summer: The calmest season of the year.
- Autumn: Winter is coming! There is increased rainfall.
- Winter: Stock up on food in advance! Farms do not grow, bees hibernate, and animals have nothing to graze on. There is no rain, but there are snowstorms. During a snowstorm, you get a "Warmed Up" buff if you warm up near a fire, get warm in bed, or drink alcohol. This buff increases health recovery and protects you from the snowstorm.

Use the cellar and non-perishable food to stock up on food for the winter. Use feeders to feed animals in winter (so that they provide resources and offspring). Any building that is a source of light or heat is considered a fire.

Snowstorms: If you are not under a roof and do not have the "Warmed Up" buff, you get a "Frozen" debuff and quickly lose health.
