Food Spoilage
Description
All food has a shelf life, measured in hours. If the freshness of a food product reaches 0, it spoils and disappears. You can tell how much time is left by the stripe on the food or in its tooltip. Some other items have a shelf life in addition to food.
Preventing food spoilage
- Recrafted food products often have a longer shelf life.
- When you recraft a food product, the shelf life resets to maximum, even if it's almost spoiled.
- Some products have a particularly long shelf life, such as alcohol, honey, jerky, salted fish, cheese, dried fruits (non-perishable products). These are good foods to stock up on for the winter.
- Additionally, to preserve freshness, you can use the cellar, which doubles the shelf life of food products.
