Strategic mode allows you to move the camera without binding it to the feudal lord. You can switch between strategic and normal mode using Key Insert.

You cannot attack or block in strategic mode, but you can control peasants directly. By selecting one or more warriors, you can order them to move/attack a target (right-click or Key X), move to the target and attack enemies in their path (Key Z), or protect the area near you (Key C). You can also right-click to order woodcutters to cut down a certain tree.

You can select all warriors by pressing (Key ~).

Strategic mode turns on automatically when you go to bed or sit on the throne. The throne slowly restores maximum stamina and increases all peasants' happiness. You will also gain part of the fullness from food consumed by peasants and part the of stats earned by peasants.
