To open a peasant's menu, hover your mouse over him and press (Key E). In this menu, you can view detailed info on the peasant, change his profession, and interact with his inventory.

After obtaining a profession, peasants will search for an appropriate tool in the chests, then start working if they find one.

When peasants get hungry, they will look for food in available chests. If they get tired, they will try to find a bed to sleep in.
