New page

Description
Animals are an important strategic resource that can be used in two different ways:

- You can have warriors/hunters hunt wild animals to get meat, hides, and wool.

- You can also tame wild animals and use shepherds to breed cattle.

Tame and Breeding
Only the feudal lord can tame wild animals. To do this, you need to place a rope in your inventory, select the target animal (Key E), and tame it (Key Z or the button in the bottom-right menu). After that, you can take the animal to a suitable location and leave it there by pressing the taming button again.

Animals eat grass, but they also won't hesitate to eat nearby farms. Semi-dry grass is not as nutritious as lush grass. Hungry animals do not provide resources (wool/milk) and do not breed. A pair of opposite-sex animals of the same species that are between the ages of 1 and 5 days periodically breed. Domesticated animals produce domesticated offspring. Animals breed much more often during the spring.

Build a slaughterhouse to customize the shepherds' work. It also allows shepherds to slaughter domesticated animals for raw meat and hides.

Use feeders loaded with straw, seeds, or crops to prevent animals from starving on non-nutritious terrain, in winter, or when a herd becomes very large. The lifespan of an animal is about 5 days.

Science
To domesticate sheep you have to learn Sheep Breeding. To domesticate cow you have to learn Animal Breeding.

You can increase yield from animals having studied Selection Science. You can also increases the frequency at which domestic animals breed using Animal Breeding Science Upgrade.
